A season on loan in the championship is what he needs, playing 30 + games against seasoned pros. I like him and believe that he can make the grade.

Loan him to Leeds next season. Bielsa will be good for him

Re: Diangana
Will be interesting to see how Josh Cullen shapes up next season. He has reportedly had a great season loan at Charlton and hopefully upped his game in terms of the physicality but obviously a gap between league 1 and the Premiership. He is small but with good technique so I am hoping he can become like say Joe Allen who may not be a superstar but one of those team players that you need to work hard. Not always seen but feel our team needs more of them. Shame Snoddy is not a few years younger and half a yard quicker as that’s what we need in that midfield imo

Diangana will not make it as a Premiership player imo but hope to be proved wrong

Re: Diangana
I think getting behind players nowadays, is just not getting on their backs if they give the ball away. Next season that could change if he doesn't improve after a few appearances.

We shall see - I'm fairly hopeful. Worst case, he doesn't cut it and we sell him for a couple of million.

Not the end of the world for all concerned.

The fans have been massively behind him at games.

Re: Diangana
He's had a taste of first team football. I'm not suggesting he throws his toys out of his pram. Of course, for the majority of young players the U23's is great - for GD, he needs to be be looking for at least a loan to a Championship team. As I say, he couldn't of been that bad otherwise he wouldn't have scored and helped us beat Everton.

If his confidence is not great, then of course it could be misconstrued as a lack of desire - he's scared, so then he won't try as much for fear of fucking up.

That's where us as fans have to get right behind him - then, if he still doesn't cut it, he'll only have himself to blame.

Re: Diangana
Not a bad debut season, but his first few games were better and then he tailed off a bit.

He needs to get in the game more. Have more touches, make more things happen. That will hopefully start for him next season. But next season is massive for him.

Re: Diangana
You're fucking mental if you think a young player should be unhappy at going back to the youth team after a couple of 1st team games. Fucking hell.

I'm not saying he's got an attitude, I'd actually slightly agree about a lack of confidence, but I see a lack of proper desire. He has talent, but I'm not sure he has enough to compensate. Let's hope he has, would be great for the club.

Re: Diangana
ED,

The U23's is a glorified youth team. I'd want him to be unhappy going back there after being around the first team. His so called 'bad attitude' got him a goal and a win against the U23's champions, the other week.

His problem is belief and confidence. He needs it back otherwise he'll fall away - he's a winger he should be a bit cocky, instead he goes into his shell.

What the actual fuck?

Why not?

Daveg,

Of course he wouldn't be happy dropping back to the U23's. And anyway, didn't he score against Everton when we beat them?

If he had an attitude problem you'd see it from the off. If anything, he lacks that bit of 'attitude', that wingers have that makes them get the ball and go at defenders.

He needs binging out of his shell, to the player that first come on the scene.

I've seen him play for the U23's a couple of times recently and thought although he played well he seemed to be saying he shouldn't be there. His shooting was woeful in one game.Hope I'm wrong because he did look good when he first emerged,a breath of fresh air.

I can see Pellegrini bring through to be a top player. I’m surprised he has not scored yet.

He was very confident at first.

Get that back, and I reckon he'll be something special

Too lightweight for me, gets pushed off the ball too easily. Like his skill but not sure he is premier league class

Re: Diangana
There's nothing wrong with Diangana's attitude, seems very humble and doesn't lack effort - he's also shown on occasions that he has ability.

The problem for me, seems to be one of confidence, he can be a bit rabbit in the headlights at times and this leads to him not be decisive enough and choosing the wrong option or not being forceful enough when running at defenders.

Let's hope out of Browne, Diangana and Holland at least one of them can really push on this coming season.

daveyg 9:14 Fri May 17
Re: Diangana
I think Holland and Browne are probably better suited to the PL . Holland seems to dance round people and has good balance. Browne has more power and skill. But he may have a bit of an attitude problem. Rio was singing his praises earlier in the season at Oxford.Think Diangana may have a similar problem too. The pre-season will probably see one of those retained maybe two if they really impress Pellegrini and his staff. Diangana stepped ahead of both due to injuries to each at that crucal moment. Not sure Diangana has progressed that much since the turn off the year. Browne went out on loan. Oxford want him back but a good championship team could take hime for 6 months. No point sending him to a struggling team again.

No. We will need a 4th choice wide man so it might as well be him.
